Journey

Eras you can verify

Beirut → Aberdeen → factories → holding. Four chapters, one continuous working line.

Each era left a checkable residue: harbour practice, dock networks, blast-freezer capacity, and finally a holding that still runs cold chain and export from Edinburgh with Beirut as the second home.

1954 · Beirut

Maritime family roots

Born in Beirut. Childhood among harbour warehouses, customs papers and Mediterranean trade — the first working vocabulary of ships, berths and paperwork.

1975 – 1982 · Aberdeen

Ports & docks

Field years on Aberdeen ports and docks: North Sea quotas, freight and port clearance. Commercial bridges with Scottish maritime networks that still matter.

1982 – 1995 · Scotland

Seafood processing factories

Sultan Al Shene established modern blast-freezing focused on shrimp and shellfish, expanding cold-chain exports toward Southern Europe and the Middle East.

1995 – Present

Al Shene Marine Holding

Founding leadership of integrated seafood operations across the North Sea corridor, Ireland and Scandinavia — with Rashid leading day-to-day operations, logistics and supply.

The Scots taught me how to stand against the storm in those freezing waters. I showed them how to present that red treasure from their nets to the world as a jewel.
